What's currently on my nails!

Just a quick post! I'm just procrastinating... and I thought I'll share a 'What's on my nails' mani that I did!

I received this awesome Revlon Moon Candy Nail Polish in Galactic from Jill! (We did a swap! Which hopefully I can post up soon on my blog!) and I thought I'll try it out since my previous nail polish was chipping!

All I did was layer the black tinted blue polish and added a coat of the blue flecks from the Revlon Moon Candy Polish. Added a coat of China Glaze's Luxe & Lush and Nubar 2010 Flakies. Then sealed it off with some good ol' Seche Vite and Voila!

I'm always loving the flecks of specks on ma nails! Here's some instagram pics which I took!

You can see my lecture slides that I was suppose to be annotating but painting my nails is much more interesting that studying.

Anyways, hope I have some time later to blog some stufficles! Been missing this blog!

Toodles!

A Long Awaited Inglot Haul.

Hi all! It's been way too long since I last blogged! I've been procrastinating in posts and also as usual being a huge busy bee. I've finally finished my second year at University and I've finally got myself a new car! I've been dying to post something but was still articulating and editing my images as well as finding the right time to post since my schedule has been jam packed considering that I've been given more shifts at work leading up to the busy Christmas Season.

Anywho, to kick off my come back - I've been awaiting to post this Inglot haul which I kind of collected during August - Late September. Talk about a huge lag, I've finally compiled some things that I've bought and also being an Inglot virgin - no doubt I was highly impressed and I have to say that they're awesome.

Their quality is amazing and also their prices are not surprisingly expensive. Compared to MAC. I would definitely go for Inglot if you're looking for that high end quality but don't want that huge price tag MAC offers.

A few of the items were from IMATS earlier this year in August and the rest were pick ups whilst being near the Inglot stand at Bondi Junction. I'm not going to go into too much detail but just a little overview of the products.

I didn't take an individual shot of the Matte Top Coat but I can say that the Inglot Matte Top Coat is the bomb diggity. Best Matte Top Coat I've ever tried. It lasts pretty well on my nails, roughly a week without chipping.

I've been eyeing the Freedom System for a while (ever since my friend Lisa bought an 8 palette Freedom System at IMATS I was so tempted.) In late September, I finally got my hands on it and bought 2 eyeshadows just as a starter. I haven't decided on the other 2 colours to fill it with so it's blank for now, until I can find something unique. As you can see the chips and scratches on the eyeshadows I had a tough time trying to move them in and out of the palette. I'm a huge noob and knew that I can use the lid to shift them out. The brown eyeshadow is a bitch to move out of the palette so I literally need a bobby pin to crank that one out. The shimmery pearl shadow is a dream to take out of the palette only using the magnetic corner to gently shift the shadow out. Overall, this palette is great for travelling and I like the quad and the ability to switch shadows and stuffs.

Swatches of 402 (Shimmer), 30 (Pearl)

The Flakie Polish in 203 was an awesome addition to my obsession with flakie polishes. I also picked this one up at IMATS this year. Bought it for $11 at IMATS. Awesome quality polish I have to add!

The Inglot lip glosses are my favourite, considering being a person who isn't a huge fan of lip glosses. I discovered 100 at IMATS earlier this year when I was after a nice nudey pink gloss. I instantly fell in love with the colour considering it was something I was looking for - as well as the awesome formula and irresistible strawberry scent. It's the type of scent you want to open up the lip gloss and sniff all day. I do that.....

I have to say that the Sleek Creams are my favourite range out of their glosses. It glides on nicely and also has a pretty decent staying power. It's also moisturising so +1 for that too!

Their formula is way better than any other gloss I've tried to date they're decently priced coming at $22AUD. 100 is a shade which I picked up at IMATS for $15. Best lip gloss ever. As for the Sleeks and Sleeks VLC - they're similar but obviously a different range. I found that the VLC's are much more on the shimmery/pearly side and also the Sleeks are more shimmer/metallic (If that makes sense).  I've used up half the tube of the 100 already and that's a new record for me. I'm one of those people who never finish lip glosses because I'm always switching around and stuff. Oh, and add my YSL Glossy Stain to the 'most used lip glosses' these two are my all time favs!

The scents of these lip glosses are uniquely pleasant, as I mentioned.  I found that the Sleek Creams have this awesome strawberry scent which is irresistible compared to the Sleeks and Sleeks VLC which kind of have a plasticy scent - it's not a huge turn off but the Sleek Creams are much more desirable in scent.

Swatches of 76, 100, 45.

That concludes my Inglot haul! I'm just finishing up with some more posts that I need to put together. I'll be back real soon so keep an eye out! In the meantime, let me know if there's any other posts you would like to see!

Be back real soon!

A Fantasy Fire

So on Tuesday, popped to my local Big W and saw this gorgeous purple duo toned nail polish by Maxfactor in Fantasy Fire.

It's so pretty and unique and I love duo toned nail polishes. I picked this up for a dollar apparently. It scanned up as a dollar instead of the usual $5.95 which was a win! Anywho, been loving this colour so far and I currently have it on my nails.

This is the best image I could get of the nail polish looking true in real life. So perddddy. I'm loving it.

I decided to layer some colours as the nail polish is pretty opaque by itself.

I used a metallic blue base by Magnetix (has no name) and then layered around 2-3 coats of Fantasy Fire and topped it off with Nubar 2010 flakies.

Sealed it with a layer of topcoat and adding two layers of the gel-look top coat to really make it look shiny and glossy.

I previously own a few other colours from Maxfactor Max Effect Mini Nail Polishes and their staying power is pretty decent. Roughly 4-5 days until chipping or peeling.

I'll be back soon with a review on some mascaras!

American Apparel Nail Lacquer in Office, Palm Springs & L'Esprit.

Apologies everyone! It's been heaps hectic this week especially with Uni just starting, my birthday and also work as well! I'm finally 20! Nothing too exciting to celebrate about, though I was spoilt by the boyfriend with dinner at Waterfront Grill, a lovely Pandora bracelet with a love heart charm and also a Guess Bag and Wallet from the friends. Not to mention my Beats Tours that I received from my lovely Aunty. (Pictures you may have seen if you follow me on Instagram!)

I will also do a separate birthday post real soon and also do an exciting review on this shampoo that I've been loving and probably my new holy grail shampoo & conditioner combo.  Anywho, down to this review which I'm excited to share with you today!

The other day, Shela & I had a lunch date at the city. I took Shela to eat Bibimbap because we were craving Korean Food... Okay more like I wanted to but she agreed to come eat with. After having an awesome Bibimbap lunch at Noodlemee (Located at Wynyard Station), our next destination was American Apparel.

Our initial plan was to go to American Apparel in the first place (since we have never really went to the actually physical store and also wanted to check out some clothes there that we eyed online) and it was also a day to find a present for my boyfriend's mum.

We tried on the infamous disco pants and found that they so didn't suit us. We also tried on the 'also infamous' Helvetica shirts (since I was considering buying one) but found that they weren't worth for the quality they are. Meh. Anyways, we left American Apparel with just 3 nail polishes each. Despite being a little disappointed with not coming home with any clothes from AA, all I can say now is that I love love love my nail polishes that I grabbed. I was so sad they didn't have the Manila colour that I originally wanted (which was a nice bright yellow) so I opted for Palm Springs.

The longevity of these nail polishes are pretty impressive. It took around 2 coats to be opaque to my liking. 3 to be 'perfect' and look way more polished... if that made sense.

They lasted around a week before starting to grow out of my nails. I can't think of any cons for these besides probably it being a little pricey, but definitely worth it.

Office, Palm Springs, L'Esprit

Swatches: Palm Springs, L'Esprit & Office

Overall, like I said they are a little pricey but what it's a good quality nail polish considering they're $12 a pop or 3 for $28. Shela and I got 3 each. I wanted some pastel nail polishes too add to my collection and also I'm a huge sucker for sleek packaging. These will forever be my favourites.

Will be back after soon with more reviews and a haul coming up soon!

Uni Life, Anniversary, Mail & Nail Therapy.

So I have my Stats Exam on this week and thank heavens it is an open book exam. I haven't been going to my past 5 lectures and tutorials and it's because I'm utterly lazy due to the fact that it's not complusory, most of my friends don't go and most of the time I am napping. So I'm sort of doomed...ish.

Also, after my mid-semester break from Uni I've been spending a lot. I've recently purchased my first Sigma Brush Kits along with a pair of Sigmax HD Brushes, so I can't wait for those to arrive and all. As well as the occasional outings I've been having with the close friends and as well, today - celebrating my eight month anniversary with my boyfriend! I don't know why out of all the other anniversaries but today was probably so exciting - maybe it's the fact that 'eight' is my favourite number or alternatively when flipped sideways it signifies an infinite sign...... What the hell did I just say (that was utterly corny and shiz - I will hold my peace now).

This morning before leaving the house to Cabramatta with the boyfriend and friends to have brunch and prepare of Phong's Getty/BBQ for ANZAC Day - I got mail! Just 3 things from eBay!

So I'm going to cut to the chase and get onto some needed (unnecessary) retail therapy 'session' I had today.

I headed to my local Big W to grab these polishes knowingly that they are on special. Maxfactor ($5 off) Napoleon (3 for 2), Face of Australia ($3 off) & of course Australis ($3 off?) was on sale. The sale is til 2 May as I asked the shop assistant there - so you got a week or so left! Cosmetics are running out quick because nearly every Big W I went to, it was sort of demolished... Anywho, these are the things I got!

Presents from the boyfriend.

My Long awaited Dusk Candle in Lychee & Black Tea. SMELLS AMAZING.
Story behind this is that, when we went to Dusk I was madly in love with this scent. I was broke since it cost $27 for that candle so I was like... I'll wait when I have more money and get it.
Yesterday the boyfriend went out and got it for me! As well as a cute card (in which I'm not going to show because it's image is super corny and embarrassing LOL) but the card is super adorable!
As well as the lip butters he got me before but today I managed to swap my Cotton Candy Lip Butter for Tutti Frutti! (Will do a post one that soon!)

In the mail today I finally got my Shu Uemura Mini Eyelash Curler and also my supposedly 'Shiseido' Eyebrow Razors LOL.

I'm still adjusting on how to use it without pulling out my little lashes, but basically the mini eyelash curler works better than a normal eyelash curler (supposingly) as it grabs each lash for a better curl?!

My Mini & Original Size Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers

So what's the hype behind these lash curlers?! I shall do a blog post about these lash curlers soon! They're not just ordinary lash curlers, they cater... (that's shall be all I will say!) I want to make a separate post for these.

So...
The things I actually bought! 3 of the nail polishes I bought a few days ago but I thought I'll add them in!

These retail for $4.95 each
and ended up $1.95 each after the ($3 off)

I shall be giving this one away...

and going to give these babies away!
And perhaps this whole set below, there's 2 Ivory, 2 Sunny Pink's

These were $5 off and usually they're $5.48 so... I got them for 48 cents each! But they have limited colours and by the time I got there, they were ALL gone. So I got the last ones.

If you can see, I kinda got lazy and didn't put my watermark on these images. It's time consuming but I'm just going to rush through and get my study on asap.

My giveaway will be in 2 days! So if you're eager to score yourself some nail polishes, ENTER!

Peachy, Coraly and Pink Nails.

I wish i was more creative with my titles LOL. Everytime i post something i try to think of something 'catchy' but i suck. :(

Anyways! What i get up to in my spare time is just playing with nail polish and I don't like having too many bright colours on my nails. If you know me - I'm a pretty neutral coloured and also neutral towards make-up i barely have any wild colours in my collection but probably a bright pink lippy .... i'm still a slight noobie when it comes to any beauty products. So i'll be usually wearing a nude lippy or especially nude/peachy coloured nails (if you've noticed)

Nevertheless, lately my nails have been outwearing my OPI Dulce De Leche for 2/3 weeks with a Clear Top Coat. I love that colour! It's probably my signature nail polish colour! It started getting edgy but not cracky - which is what i love about OPI nail polishes. They're absolute quality but a bit pricey (especially if you live in Australia they cost $20AUD at David Jones) but i bought mine on eBay for roughly $15AUD.

OPI Dulce De Leche
(Taken from Google / pretty-lil-things)

I wanted to get rid of my Dulce De Leche Colour (for reference - the picture above) and so i was looking through the nail stash and found my next 'go to' colour which is Revlon's Iced Spice (130) - I looks really old according to the spill stains my mum has probably made and all but it was a bright Peach colour and a new colour variation to my nails.

I got bored after having this colour for a day and reverted back to my OPI Barefoot in Barcelona which is a mauve? (not too sure) I think... well just a darker version of Delce De Leche... I sort of got inspired to use my Nubar after a long time after seeing Tezza's post, on where she is wearing the same Nubar 2010 as i own here!
