DIY Coffee Body Scrub/Face Mask

I'm back! And I know I keep going and disappearing! I'm currently teaming up with a friend of mine whom will be partnering up on my blog as well as also posting reviews for as well. I've been super busy so... having another person on Just Plain Delirious to also be apart of this new 'team' will be something special! We're hoping to post more given that we have another person on board, so stay tuned for that!

Anyways, So let's get into this DIY! I don't think I've ever done a DIY on my blog before but let it be one of the first DIY project I'll ever do.

Lately I've been recovering from the flu and even after the flu, I realised my eyes were puffy and also my skin was kind of dry and red. Puffy eyes have always been an issue for me, not only do I try to drink enough water but for some reason I just always tend to have them.  I was bored one night and was inspired by one of Michelle Phan's Coffee Scrub Video that she did yoinks ago and ... went and dug up some things I could find in the kitchen and voila!

DIY: Brush Cleaner

So i thought since everybody is raving about on how they clean their brushes and what they use. I'll join the gang, but also i will show you what I use - which is bit of a differ to the ones you see on youtube and what other people may use.

I'm not some kind of genius in making any brush cleanser but this is what i use and do and it works well! My brushes come out really nice and clean and nothing bad has happened to my brushes so far and i thought i would share this!

I know many people use Olive Oil and also Vinegar?! To be honest, i wouldn't wanna be using those type of ingredients to put on my face even though they might have some great benefits but no!

Anywho i was super bored and been thinking about posting this for a while, and here i complied all the images of what i use to make my brush cleaner!

What you need to make your brush cleaner solution!
  • Antibacterial Dishwashing Detergent
  • Make Up Remover (I use this Garnier Clean Sensitive) - any will do as long as it works for you
  • Witch Hazel - Locally found at your supermarket
  • Some water!
  • A Spray Bottle or Any container you would like to put the product in!
I use a 50ml spray bottle and it does run out fast so i suggest using a spray bottle because it will distribute the formula more.

To make a 50ml formula - multiply this by how many mls depending on your bottle.

These measurements are by my estimations but i do suggest small amounts of dishwashing detergent as opposed to make up remover.

Eg. Small amounts of Dishwashing Liquid, Decent amount of Witch Hazel and Make Up Remover and Small amount of water.

  1. I add probably roughly 1 & a half teaspoons of antibacterial dishwashing detergent
  2. Add 2-3 tablespoons of make up remover of your choice
  3. Then add 1-1 and a half tablespoons of Witch Hazel
  4. Whatever is remaining fill with water (optional)

Combine in the bottle and you're ready!

  • Witch Hazel helps in cleansing the brushes as well keeping them clean and kill any other bateria that may be left on the brush due to the % of alcohol is in Witch Hazel.
  • Antibacterial Dishwashing Liquid will kill all the germs and bacteria that maybe left on the brush.
  • Make Up Remover - Pretty much helps aid the removal as well as keeping the bristles on the brush nice and smooth.
  • And water! To just thin out the mixture.

Let me know about your thoughts and also anything questions you may have!

Melting Lippies Into New Packaging!

The title says all! I got this tip/idea from Tram where she has a tutorial on how to DIY Lipstick Palette! Since my idea is really simular... i've been thinking about doing this to my old lippie for a while! So i did, just then! At roughly 11pm... at night. (Bored Child) Anywho! it is basically the same method as to what i did according to Tram's tutorial. But in my case, i had an empty MAC container which i obtained from a sample at the MAC store and i cleaned it, disinfected it and wiped it dry before putting any of my melted lipstick in!

Basically, i reaaaaally love this colour from BYS in Beautifully Bare though, i have carried this lipstick around with me and the cap is so flimsy and keeps falling off - causing to get lipstick all over my bag. Horrible. Anywho, i was bored and just til today i saw this lippie laying around and thought... Hey, I can melt this into an easy to keep pot!

As you can see, the casing is quite..... 'cheap' not a fan of this lipstick case i'm afraid.

As you can see i'm in my bathroom and LOL at my clock. Yes it was near 11pm.

Here you can see that i've gotten a spoon which is disinfected and also washed it with dishwashing liquid and wiped it clean. After, i got my spoon (i think toaster was better and Tram used a toaster which was EASIER - but i couldn't be bothered taking the toaster out at 11pm at night so i discreetly got a candle and a lighter)

So basically after disinfecting your spoon and your container, you 'chop up your lipstick' in my case i just took the whole chunk... chop it up so it melts faster i suppose. Then, place it onto the spoon and put the spoon over the candle for it to melt. If you're planning on re using this spoon i suggest don't use this method. If not get a spoon you're going to throw away... ANYWAYS! After it has melted the lipstick gently pour the contents into the jar and let it cool down.

This is the finish result! And i love how its really flat in shape, as in it's not lumpy or bumpy and it looks like i've gone out and bought a lip pot!

Thank god i got this free MAC Container from the samples, it makes my lippy look so professional HAHAHA

But i do not using lippies with fingers so i'll definitely use this with a lip brush.

For more, check out Tram's tutorial where i've linked it here

Love, J.
