Anyways... this will be a quick and sweet post! I've complied a bunch of beauty products in which I deemed to be my beauty favourites of 2013. I've seen many other bloggers who have done this post or in a video form, so... I thought I'd share my own version!

Beauty Favourites of 2013
Hi All! Happy 2014 and also it's my first post on this blog - this year! Hurrah! It's been a while and to be honest I've been lazy with blogging - so I'm gonna try and keep up since I do have some spare time right now.

NYX Haul: Round Lippies & Lip Cream
Hurray! Got my NYX Lippies from America this morning and finally i can make a review and also show you them! I'm so excited cause it's been around a week and they finally arrived in my hands! I threw in my Tea Rose lippie into this haul only because i haven't really talked about it and it's sorta part of the Haul too. :)
I did a lot of research on these colours as i was discussing these colours with my boyfriend's mum. We love MAC make up overall and she recommended me to get MAC's Angel and High Tea. I think our taste in make up and colours in general are very simular which is awesome!
Anywho, these NYX lippies which i purchased are just dupes (according to my research after 2 hours looking at what colours i should buy and also which ones would suit my face) I didn't want to buy lippies which i then could not wear due to the fact that it maybe too pigmented or something i wouldn't wear out. I'm extremely happy with my selection and i was so careful (hence why it took me 2 hours - i didn't look at just 4 lippies, but overall a huge array of colours)
The following dupes are according to my research and also the colour simularity to MAC's Lipsticks. I do not own any MAC Lipsticks at the moment (I had a Cindi Lauper Viva La Glam one, which i gave to my mum and she left it in the car and it melted..... so goodbye to that one - it was such a waste!)

L2R: Iced Honey, Sky Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Tea Rose
and swatches...
Left to Right Swatches:
Stockholm (Soft Matte Lip Cream), Pumpkin Pie, Iced Honey, Sky Pink, Tea Rose
(My Tea Rose, as i mentioned i got it around 2 weeks earlier hence why my swatch different compared to the others.)
DISCLAIMER: I suggest you google the images between the two. I wanted to try out the colours before i actually head out and get myself an actual MAC Lippie and i really don't like the idea of trying our the lippies on my hand at the MAC counter because....
- Germs, Bacteria (bet you never thought of that!) and annoying sales assistants.
- I hate trying on cosmetics in store because it tends to get messy and yucky.
NYX Pumpkin Pie is a close dupe to MAC's Freckletone/Dressmaker, Dressmaker - I really like the whole nudey orangey colour and when applied on my lips it's pretty neutral (i'm unsure what my tone is - i think i have a warm tone LOL) But i wouldn't say it's an exact dupe.
NYX Iced Honey is a very close dupe to MAC's High Tea - my boyfriend's mum bought MAC's High Tea and said it was a bit too nudey for her, on my lips with Iced Honey it was a nice and a hint of shine. It's personally my favourite.
NYX Sky Pink is a very close dupe of MAC's Angel - My boyfriend's mum also has MAC's Angel and at first i was very skeptic about the colour, as i thought it might be a Barbie pink colour (i dislike the whole pastal pink colour on my lips) but it was actually a subtle pink and it sorta looked a bit dolly on me but i guess it was mediocre.
As for my NYX Tea Rose i didn't bother looking for a dupe - but since for the sake of this post. I found that MAC's Fanfare is a great dupe.
NYX Lip Cream in Stockholm: Overall, this goes on really easy and smoothly. I love the pigmentation and also how it feels on my lips - I love how Matte it is as well! This wins me over my MAC Dazzleglass and since it is a lip cream it seriously does wonders! It's glides on smooth and also i just love the texture and the vanilla smell! I like to top NYX Pumpkin Pie with Stockholm and it just looks wonderful on my lips. Definitely a 5/5 for me!
Overall, NYX lippies are really good for everyday wear (in my opinion) of course they will only last 2-3 hours and they're great if you're experimenting with lipstick (like me) - Personally, i'm not a lipstick person but after receiving all these colours which i purchased from eBay, it's something that i can wear for going out and probably Uni as well.
Pros: Inexpensive, Can see the colour of the lippie on the bottle (great when you're trying to find a colour), Great Range of Colour, Addictive Vanilla Smells (reminds me of my shampoo LOL), Moisturising and glides onto the lips perfectly.
Cons: Doesn't last as long - but lipstick in general won't last long anyways. Nothing else really.
I love these lippies, I love how they're pretty good quality and also they're pretty cheap too. I've used NYX's Eyeliner pencil and it works wonderfully. I love NYX cosmetics overall and i wish they were widely more avaliable in Australia - unfortunately i have to buy them online :(
I would give these lippies 4/5! and you can also find heaps of great dupes with the large range NYX has :)
Hope this was helpful!
Love, J
What a girl wants and probably want she needs!
Hi there! Soooooo i wanted to post all the things that i want to try and also buy! But for starters, for those who asked me about my Tarte Mascara; i found out about it from many MUA's (Make Up Artists) on youtube and especially my favourite - Andrea's Choice!
After watching this video, like a while ago (probably before Christmas) a few things she used from her My Glam Bag (if you don't know what it is click on the link) i wanted to grab myself! She mentions Tarte's Lights Camera Lashes! Mascara and i actually purchased and received it and love it! Also, the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream which i've been eyeing on lately! Still deciding if it's worth getting and also if i'm actually going to use it! I always impluse on lip balms, lipsticks and glosses...
Anywho! I'm going to show you my wishlist and possibly what i'll probably might end up buying! Since i haven't had work in a while due to Christmas/Public Holidays and the fact that my job is casual it really sucks because i don't get sufficient money all the time :( I'm down First of all, i need:
- Eyeshadow Palette (I do not own one myself and would like to experiment and try it out)
- Bronzer (Just to try out and see how it is - and probably end up using one)
- Blush (Because i need SOME colour on my face)
- Lipstick (I'm not really a lipstick person but recently i just want to get one so i can have a wearable colour for going out and all)
- Make Up Brushes (Yes i've recently got some and if they do die out i'll definitely get these Sigma ones i've been lusting about)
Soooooo, on my current wishlist...
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream - $4~6USD
Not in this colour but, in Antwerp or Sao Paulo
Antwerp / Sao Paulo
This can double up as a lipstick and also something i can use all the time but also i've been eyeing...
MAC 'Angel' Frost Lipstick - $36AUD
It is Kim K's favourite (saw this online as well as my bf's mum telling me about it too, she even owns 'Angel' hehehe) - I'm not sure if thats the actual Angel swatch because i just googled it and chose the most good looking MAC lipstick picture LOL.
I haven't seen/tried the colour in real life but i've seen swatches online so next time i'm passing the MAC Store at Parramatta i'm going to find it! I hope i'll like it because i'm loving the current Lancome one i have
Lancome L'Absolu Rouge in Rose Nu - $52AUD
My mum keeps stealing it from me... technically it's hers... even though she bought it for me...but its normal she sometimes takes my clothes too... urgh. But i wouldn't mind getting it in another colour... been trying to find one and not really satisfied so, i'll probably find a peachy one or something!
Naked2 Palette from Urban Decay - $50USD (from UD Website)
I've recently just got into eyeshadow cause i'm not an eyeshadow person but i do like neutral colours and recently i've learnt how to apply eyeshadow and blend and do all the shading... but i'm still a bit of a noob. My bf's mum bought this for herself and she knew all about it after i told her. I'm so jealous she's going to get it!!!!!! (Well it's currently being sent from America, so bloody jelly!) If i can master it and also be able to create looks and master using eyeshadow this will definitely be a must! I would like to use this as an everyday palette but at the moment it's just eyeliner, mascara, foundation & lip gloss for me! (Oh and some blush... sometimes!)
As for Blush and I'm still clueless, i currently use my mum's blush which she gave to me... she got a sample size of it since she is always buying Lancome products. It's a decent blush and she doesn't use it because she isn't a fan of the colour so i use it from time to time as i don't own any blushes myself at the moment. I really want to get myself a peachy pink or something for work / everyday?!
Lancome Brush Subtil in Brun Roche (08) - $72AUD
As for Bronzer... any suggestions? I have NEVER EVER used Bronzer and i don't want to spend too much. Any ideas? Please comment and let me know! I'm eyeing...
Australis Bronzing Powder - $11.95AUD at Priceline
For brushes, enough said. I really want these Sigma Brushes because the case is so pretty and it's in this aqua blue colour which is my FAVOURITE COLOUR.
Sigma 'Make Me Cool' 12 Brush Kit - $109USD
I heard they're just as good as MAC and when my brushes start falling apart and all or whatever and i have some money to throw around on cosmetics and all, i will purchase these babies. Though i don't know if i want the travel size since it is smaller and it is only $59USD but i really like the full size brushes.
That should be it for now, any suggestions for a good blush colour, brand & also price as well as bronzer!!!! Please let me know and i'll be back soon!
Love, J.
Splurging with minimal effort.
So i just finished my shift at Foxtel today at Liverpool. I woke up pretty late - like around 11.30am and work was at 4.30pm so it was all gooooood. Went to Big W at Bonny to buy a White Tee for work and found out that I DIDN'T have to buy one since my client provides one for me. Zzzz but yeah! Omg i hate doing promotions that customers aren't really enthusiastic in cause it really makes me feel shitty and i just want to laze around.. Nevertheless my manager gave me a free t-shirt and also a keyring to take home! Saw some familiar faces as well, like Teresa and Kristy :) Lovely for you guys to come up and say hi :) Also, i'll be also be working on Saturday at the Foxtel Kiosk in front of Big W so you can come and win a prize from this Foxtel Treasure Chest promotion which i'm doing LOL.
Anywho, i just finished probably splurging on Cherry Culture. After days of surfing Ebay and other cosmetics websites... and also.. after promising myself that i would save some money for items i wish to buy at Ikea next week when Lorenzo takes me there. At the beginning of the week i probably had like $318 now i'm down to less than $200 (after this Cherry Culture purchase) I should get paid this following Wednesday and Friday from both my last shifts from Toys R Us as well as from MEA for my marketing promotions. I love getting paid heaps for doing promotions and it's minimal effort. I basically love this job! Hehehe anywho....
After receiving a tweet from Alice about NYX being 40% i just had to grab myself some NYX products. WHICH I DID! I have to wait approx. 7-14 days to get it. So yeaaaaah. But i grabbed myself...
Note: These are not the actual colours of the products i purchased, these are the images i've taken from the website.
NYX Blush in Peach - $6USD
NYX Slim Line Eyeliner in White Pearl - $4USD
With NYX products i purchased from Cherry Culture, i got 40% as well! Obtained by Alice (sooooo thank you Alice! I saved some $$!) Shipping is a tad pricey. It was i think $6 (and this is measured by the number of items you purchase) I've used NYX Eyeliner before & I LOVE IT. I bought this White Pearl one at the Markets at Chinatown for $4 and i've used heaps of it and i will continue to buy this eyeliner :) I use it for my waterline and also my inner corners when i go out or sometimes when i head to work - it's just versatile!
Anywho, i've been using this De Lorenzo Rejuven8 The Ends Hair Cream and i always buy it at Paris Hairdressing at Liverpool Westfields for $11.95 (everywhere else is like $16.95) It's perfect for those who straighten their hair HEAPS (like i do) and would like something to protect the ends as well as keep it soft and silky and in place. :)
I'm pretty tired and will keep you updated fellow followers! Thanks to those who have followed/visited my blog! Hehehe i feel loved!
Love, J.
