May's Edition: Lust Have It

So last Thursday morning I didn't expect this box to come so early, usually my box comes late but I'm actually glad I got it nearly half way of the month. I really like this months LHI Box. I love how they have a make up pouch instead of a box, which is really neat.

So... let's get down to the products!

We Have...

Calvin Klein Sheer Beauty Perfume Vial Sample
Caron Bump Erasier Medi Paste
Evo The Therapist Shampoo & Conditioner
Model Co Lip Gloss in Strip Tease
Bioderma Crealine H20 - I was so excited to get this but then saw how small it was :(
Nicole by OPI
Lust Soap from Lush

Why do I love this months box? They're mainly high end items and also things I love and would use! I'm not a huge fan of the lip gloss but meh. I like the colour!

Model Co's 'Strip Tease' Lip Gloss is mediocre, I've been using it the past week for work and uni, lovely sheer light pink lip gloss. Nothing too pigmented it's so sheer it's nearly clear! With.. a tiny hint of pink. Super wearable and also can be layered on top of any lipstick. The mirror is also a plus and useful too!

I'm so happy I received a Lush Soap this month, this will be my 5th Soap I have from Lush! I haven't tried the LUST Soap I received yet but it smells like Jasmine which is awesomeeeeee!

The Bioderma Crealine H20 make up remover is freaking like awesome water for your face. It's really expensive and made in France. I wanted to buy a 500ml bottle on eBay turns out to be $35 (and thats already considered cheap)

I remember one of the youtube beauty gurus I watch on youtube 'Style Suzi' uses it and loves it. I love it too and also seen it everywhere! So keen to buy a 500ml bottle!

Nicole by OPI is lovely, I don't have a purple nail polish to be exact so this is awesome!

I can't wait to try out the Caron Bump Eraiser - It's prevents and eliminates ingrown hairs, perfect for the underarms.

The Evo Shampoo & Conditioner, I can't wait to use it and the packaging is so adorable!

As for the CK Sheer Beauty Perfume, it's lovely but I wouldn't go out to buy it. It's perfect to carry around, I love little perfume samples. I wish I could get more for free!

This months box was so worth paying $14.95 p/m for it. I hope June's LHI box is as great as this!

Also, I finally got my NARS Albartross Highlighter Powder, along with a Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. I can't wait when they come from Canada! Shall do a review on that later!

Til Later.

Model Co, Bloom & Business Cards.

So today the mail man dropped off 3 packages for me, I unexpectedly did not realise that all 3 were for me. But, joy! Who doesn't love receiving mail, especially when it's addressed to them!

To start off! I received my Free Model Co Colourbox Eye Pencil from Cosmopolitans Model Co Month of Gifts. As Model Co was running a promotion for a month of gifts (1 gift per week), after so long I finally got my Week 1 gift which was a typical black eyeliner pencil. Just what I needed and it was free! It retails for $26.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of the pencil eyeliner (I tend to use my waterproof crayon one more) it's great to have a pencil one handy, most likely it will be in my make up bag - great for on the go touch ups and etc.

I also received my order from Bloom Cosmetics and they are my very first Bloom Cosmetics products I ever ordered from them. I took advantage of their 40% Mothers Day Sale a few days back. Kudos to them making this sale. I ended up spending $17 (including postage - for 2 lip balms ($6.95 each + $3 something for postage - this was all after the 40% though.) I wish there was some coupon code that I could use to purchase more from Bloom that probably ended til the end of this month.

Anywho, I bought these two lip balms and I was a bit hesitant considering that I've never paid more than $4 for lip balm, but these... I just had to get them. I've tried looking for them at my local Myer (because I know they stock Bloom Cosmetics there) I also went to David Jones and I could not find these lip balms in sight!

So... I just had to buy it off their website and I did not like the idea of paying the same amount for postage when the product is nearly as the same price (if you know what I mean). But, luckily the 40% off sale was there (1 day only too... poo.)

Nevertheless, One was for myself (Mango Tango) and the other one was for my friend Shela. I bought her the Watermelon one in doubts that the balm was actually red coloured (since that is her favourite colour) but it was just a typical lip balm colour.... I can't describe it. Look like wax?! LOL (oh of course...)

The Lip Balms are part of their Boost Lip Balm Range. Reason being is that... it comes in six mouth-watering flavours taken from the most popular Boost Juice smoothies and combined with soothing beeswax, nourishing jojoba seed oil and moisturising vitamin E.

I must admit, I think I will buy another Watermelon one for myself (probably when my mango one runs out). The Mango Tango lip balm smells nice but the Watermelon one is much more prominent and much more 'Watermelon' like, as opposed to the Mango one. UH, I AM JELLY. I gave that away! But, I'm going to enjoy using my lip balm - it's super cute and handy to carry around. I have all these random lip balms at home that I don't use and I know I will definitely use this little cutie.

Bloom also gave me this little sample of their Nourishing Hand Cream which is part of their Organics range. I love it! Though, I don't really use hand creams but generous sample from them!

The final verdict for this lip balm is just that - it's really moisturising and also smells pleasant on application. I'm a huge sucker for packaging, so this little thing was a must for me. They cost $6.95 each and they're about 6cm (2 inches) in height. (So tiny and oh so adorable! Ha!). A bit pricey for just a lip balm but so worth it.  Bloom Cosmetics is only available in Australia in David Jones & Myer Stores but you can purchase their products on their website.

What also came in the mail today was my business cards I made for the upcoming blogger events/miscellaneous things I'll be attending! I can't wait to attend my very first blogger event (technically a morning tea fundraiser - but I know a whole heap of beauty bloggers will be there!)

I decided to make these business cards to pass around when I go to these events and also just to friends and family. Today, at Uni my friend Shela was more excited than I am because she wanted to see the end product of my card. I am extremely happy with the result and would like to thank Vista Print for producing nice quality and affordable cards!

The minimum I could order was 250 cards from them which was $16 (for the cards) + $18 for delivery within 7 days (but I got mine in 3-4 days). I know 250 cards is a lot I only wanted roughly 100 but I hope these cards will go to good use. I've already given out around 10 already and everyone really likes the design! (Thanks!) hehehe.

Anywho, I shall be back soon - I've been constantly bombarded with Uni. (The usual)
Til later!

Brush On Falsies?! Model Co Fibre Lash Mascara.

So yesterday morning on my way back from the Airport, I dropped by my local corner shop/newsagent and I was browsing in the Magazine section and saw this Model Co Lash Fibre Mascara with this months (April) current issue of Cleo. I was looking up Too Face's Better Than False Lashes the night before and after watching some reviews (some were good, some were bad) and all I thought I really wanted to try it and thought about getting one. Considering that I naturally have short and very thin eyelashes, I knew I had to get my hands on this considering it's $7.95 with the magazine... well technically the mascara is $48 (It says $35, for this travel size version) but you can have a look at it here on the Model Co Website

According to this Model Co Mascara, basically the fibre lashes just give that false eyelash effect without applying falsies and since I've been on a life long search to find anything that makes my lashes longer and thicker, I didn't want to fork out so much on just 1 mascara but instead get this so called Freebie with a Magazine and I say it's worth paying $7.95 for the product as well as a little read from Cleo.

The fibres remind me of insulation on the roofs or perhaps when you take apart a cotton ball look.

Basically, you apply the extension mascara which looks like your typical black mascara, then apply the fibres and then reapply the mascara. I tried this out with my Dior Extase Mascara and used the fibres along with it - it has the same effect. So I'm going to discontinue using the mascara it came along with it.

The fibres just stick to your lashes and acts like they're just extra eyelashes that slightly and merely amplify your lashes. I say it sort of works, I'm just borderline satisfied. It give a slight touch of a natural falsies look but not to the point where it looks dramatic, I would say it gives your lashes a little kick but not too much kick LOL. I suppose you wouldn't get a whole dramatic effect with this mascara unless you have naturally long or thick lashes. I think you can achieve the same effect if you piled heaps of layers of mascara.

Would I repurchase this product? No. I don't think it's worth paying $48 or $35 (whichever one) because I honestly think you're just paying for the fibres.

Luckily I got this for what, $7.95 with a magazine to try out. I wish I could find just the fibres because that would be great. If anyone knows where I can just get the fibres please let me know via email or comment below!

Til Later, Happy Reading!

Love, J
