The Old & The New Essentials!

So i thought i'll show you guys my essentials! Been on the comp all day editing my blog design and also coming up with a different simplistic banner for my blog on photoshop and etc. So! I'll show you what i mainly use every time i leave the house and just my basic natural face make up!

Most of the time when i leave the house i wear make up whether if it's little as just applying a light dusting of powder foundation just to even the skin tone and just a line of eyeliner & a swipe of mascara TO medium coverage with lip gloss and crisp liquid eyeliner along with blush (which is not pictured) especially for work! I do go all bare on my face on very rare occasions... :$

{ Overall these are just the things i need for a decent, simple and most importantly natural look }

I know some of them i've recently received and also have seen on my blog but here are my old ones and my new ones in comparison. I whacked out my DSLR and was like, pictures obviously look so much better on them and i haven't been playing with it for a while. It is bulky but who wouldn't love the quality of the pictures as opposed to my iphone.

Notice the Old Essentials lighting is different because i just took this like 5 minutes ago, the other one i took yesterday during the day.

NOTE: This isn't all my essentials these are my basics. I should've added the blush and eyeshadow (probably do so with an updated one but this will do)

My Old Essentials - I still do use some that are pictured here :)

MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC25
Australis Fresh & Flawless Pressed Powder in Deep Natural
Maybelline Lash Stiletto in Black
Lancome Adaptive (in Beige Diaphane) / Teint Idole (Beige Nature) Samples
MAC Dazzleglass in Like Venus
Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara in Blackest Black
Skin Food Auto Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner in Number 1
NYX White Eyeliner in White Pearl
Nivea Lip Balm Repair & Protection
MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC25

My overall two cents on these products:

Maybelline's Lash Stiletto: I really really hate the applicator for this. I highly do NOT recommend these for beginners. I discarded it ever since i got my MAC Pen Ultimate. The reason being, i'm not so good at liquid eyeliner and i find that the pen liquid eyeliners work best instead of the whole brush idea. Overall i hated it and i avoided using it at most and i use Maybelline's Gel Liner (which isn't pictured)

Revlon's Lash Luscious: It was a mediocre mascara but i've tried so many and this was just a meh - i only used it cause of the big brush and also the idea that it repairs lashes.

Lancome Foundation Samples: I do like Lancome's foundation but i don't think they were for me. I used these time to time and i got them when i was looking at their foundations ages ago.

Most of the products there i SHOULD'VE added to my new essentials and which is continue to use and still love are:

  • NYX White Eyeliner - I use it to do the inner corners of my eyes and line the bottom and etc
  • Skin Food Eyeliner - Best black waterproof eyeliner ever. I use it still to tightline my upper lash line
  • MAC Dazzleglass in Like Venus - Enough said. I love it.
  • MAC Studio Fix & Concealer - I barely use it now... but i do use it from time to time. I feel like it's a bit heavy on my face but it provides good coverage
  • Australis Fresh & Flawless - It's always a switch around with that and MAC's Studio Fix to set my powder it is also a go to foundation when i just wanna go ALL natural and simple and i just apply that on my face and i'm out.

My New Essentials which i loveeeeeeee!
I say these are an improvement to my previous products and also most of them i love them to death and probably can't live without.
But definitely these are the ones i've been reaching out to lately.

Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara in Black
Skin Food Auto Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner in Number 1
MAC Studio Moisture Tint in Medium Plus
MAC Penultimate Liquid Eyeliner in Rapidblack
MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC25
MAC Studio Fix Powder in NC25
MAC Dazzleglass in Like Venus
Urban Decay Eyelash Primer Potion
Christian Dior - Diorshow Iconic Mascara in 090

My overall two cents on these products:

I love them!!! Especially the MAC Studio Moisture Tint! It's a light weight tinted moisturiser and i love the smell of it and the feel on my face LOL. As for the mascara's i use two, cause i have annoying short and thin lashes, so to achieve the long and slightly thick eyelashes i use both mascaras. As you can see i'm a huge MAC fan and i'm madly in love with their cosmetics. I have had the best experience with them and i love how they match my face and their texture along with the way the products are packaged and how they suit so well to me.

This shall be all for now! Can't wait to go out and have dinner with my beloved girlies  - Stef & Steph along with my boyfriend tomorrow!

Love, J

An array of events!

Hey there! Soooooooo where have i been?! Merry Christmas! I know it's ad tad late but i've been HEAPS busy with family, work - being awfully tired and drained from so many hours (which i recently quit - i'll get to that) and also celebrating my anniversary with Lorenzo :)

So where do i begin this time? Let me remind you, this is PHOTO HEAVY

Soooooooo, last Tuesday i went to DFO with Lorenzo and we manage to buy some clothes for him... okay more like shirts and for me, i got some new CK underwear. (I made Lorenzo wait outside CK Underwear for half an hour... I think LOL - sorry!)

Before heading in, we headed to G Star Raw - which had a sale and i could NEVER find any good G Star Raw shirts for girls nor any good skinny jeans, there's always better looking guys clothes there and we managed to get there shirts up to 80% off. Which was awesome! But i came out of G Star Raw with nothing.

I chose these shirts with Lorenzo and he happily agreed with me so we bought these for him :)

I think they were $25 each or something, i know they were both under $50! Bargain :D

After shopping at DFO for probably 2 hours i think?

We went to Parra to get presents for his parents as well get my Dior Mascara AND our long awaiting Frozen Yoghurt at Yogolicious :)

I got a small with 2 toppings - Rainbow Jelly & White Tim Tams with Plain Yoghurt for $4.50 (Mines on the Left)

Lorenzo got a large with Mango Yoghurt (Since he loves Mangos) with 3 toppings - Rainbow Jelly, Honeycomb and White Tim Tams as well?!  and that was $5.50? (His one's on the right)

It was better than GEMS, which was my first experience on Frozen Yoghurt LOL :F

~
Fast forwarding to the next few days after Tuesday...

Kicking off was training for my new job. I had my second round interview on Wednesday, Officially got the job on Thursday and started working on Friday.

Overall, i wanted a new experience and also better pay. But this job was not worth it and therefore - I quit. (Yes call me a quitter but i quit for a very good reason)
  1. Pay was based on Commission (25% on the sales you make - I only made like 3)
  2. Working for this Marketing Agency meant being one of those annoying people at shopping centres who forces you to buy their product
  3. I have to wake up at 5am get to North Parramatta by 7.15am - grab my merchandise and then get told where i am working and the hours are not even flexible - so misleading. Basically, when i got there i find out where i was working (which was Stocklands Wetherill) and then i don't get told i work there for how long. They wanted me to work from 9am - 9.30pm that day. UM YEAH NOT HAPPENING. I'm not even getting an hourly rate.
  4. When you pick up the merchandise you have to return it back to the office so imagine going back to North Parramatta at 9.30 at night and returning it... Um yeah...
  5. My first day i wanted to leave at 3pm. Considering how they said it was 'flexible hours' i call up the manager and he was like not happy. Yeah whatever, don't give a shit - if one of my family members were in hospital and it was an emergency you wouldn't let me go? Fuck off.
Overall there was much more worse things about this - and i'm not going to get into that.

But the highlight of those days was having lunch everyday at Cafe Lipari, it's a cute Italian Cafe which had the most delicious salad i have ever eaten in my whole life. I'm not kidding.

I know it may not look that appealing but oh my god it was delicious as!

Cashew Chicken Salad with Tabouli on the side - $14 at Cafe Lipari North Parramatta.
I must say, the Italian's know how to make their salad! :)

Anywho, moving on! Up until Christmas Eve, I managed to get a day off and thats when i decided that i wanted to quit this labour intensive, shitty paid job. To make the day a bit more brighter and better - Lorenzo & I spent the afternoon together as it was our anniversary! Hehehe time goes by really fast and it's almost been half a year! Definitely a good pick me up from the stressful job i recently quit as well as enjoying Christmas with the family and friends. :)

Anywho! I got my Xmas present that day as well as i was not going to see Lorenzo on Christmas Day. THIS IS WHAT I GOT!!!!!!!!

Inside....

Excuse my asian bedsheets LOL
BUT YES I FINALLY GOT MY HOLY GRAIL MASCARA.
(And talking about Holy Grail things, i think i should made a post of my holy grail things!)

So in love with it - Lorenzo would know, cause i play with it like every 5 minutes!
Thanks Lorenzo!!!

I already knew i was getting it (refer to last Tuesday - mentioned earlier!) but the excitement of waiting for it was all goooooood! Also that day, i got a $50 Myer Gift Card from his mummy, so thanks for that :) And gave out presents to his mummy and mine :)

~
Moving on.... as for Christmas Day! My mum and I made this breakfast LOL - and considering we're the only ones at home for Christmas this is probably i suppose... our 'feast' :P

After that we spent mostly the whole afternoon & evening at my cousins and had heaps of Viet food and ate heaps of chocolate :$

These were pretty mediocre :D

Later that night, Lorenzo & I along with the boys & girls (John, David, Kevin, Phong, Terry, Jason, Tom, Danny) and (Loma, Cathy, John's little sisters, Jason's little sister) + anyone else i forgotten, there was like 4 cars and each car was filled so yeah... we went to see Xmas Lights!

Basically cruising around West Hoxton and also Cecil Hills and then Chipping Norton but there was many, i just took two pictures LOL. After that we resulted to a KK's but it was closed, then to a Kebab (at Orange Grove) but then finally deciding to go to Bonny Maccas for a late night kebab. Hanged out talked, and went home at around 1.30am. That was my Christmas Day!

Boxing Day was just... a dinner with my cousins at Cabra Vale

Their steak was soooooo nice and less greasier than Cooks Hill but their portions are a bit smaller!

Those Nachos we're sooooooooo yum.

And now i'm back home from DFO and just got MORE new CK Underwear and all and i'm so happy along with Lana's birthday present, can't wait to hand it to her!
Hope ya'll had an awesome christmas and also have a happy new year! Be back soon!!!!

Love, J.

Interviews & Shopping Splurges.

It's beeeeen way too long so i decided to blog! This blog is going to be heaps photo heavy!
So where do i start?!

Last Thursday, Lorenzo & I went up to Chatswood to Daiso! I feel really sorry for him cause i think i was a bit demanding at the fact that i asked for a really big favor of him to drive me all the way there on a busy shopping late night time. (Never again will i let him go through that pain just to make me feel happy LOL  - I know his my bf and all but i felt so slack!)

But anywho, the traffic was horrible and on Google maps it was supposed to take 50 minutes (probably without traffic) but with my very keen intention to get out of the house - it freaking took us an hour and a half to and back home so.... 3 hours gone? I don't know - wasted so much petrol and definitely better if i caught the train there. ANYWAYS! We got to Daiso and planned to go to Westfields Chatswood for some shopping but i got an unexpected phone call from Student Marketing and actually got called in for a second round interview in January. Basically just work around campus for the first 2-3 weeks of Semester 1 at UTS. But not sure if i'm going to take it since i've recently got offered a new job! (More details later)

All was interrupted as we were lost at Chatswood and also trapped in horrific peak hour traffic so we just decided to go home after Daiso. I think we spent a good 2 hours in there and parking costed us $21. I was no happy with the outcome of this trip because i went into a private car parking place which charged like $5 for half an hour... Um yeah, NOT COOL. When if we drove probably 200m's down (and being the asian that i am) we could've saved $21 and parked for free.......... SO PISSED OFF. But basically we just got to Chatswood just for this store LOL - not happy.

Anyways! So here's some goodies i got from Daiso - if you don't know what Daiso is it's this Japanese store which sells everything for $2.80. Google it :D

Blotting Papers. THESE WERE SO GOOD I only bought one cause i didn't think it would be that great.
Don't underestimate Japanese Quality. It beats Chinese Quality (Sorry!)

This rather unique air freshener thingumabob.

This is like a pore strip but in a squeezy pack. That applies on like glue... and you peel it off..
I thought why not try it, its probably easier to use then the normal pore strips and also it's japanese.
Don't buy this LOL but i'll probs use it around my face as a face peeling mask or some shizzle. LOL

Bought 3 of these storage shelf thingys so i can put my make up and all my other essentials in my room.

ALL CHEAP STUFF LOLOL. Pretty much my trip to Daiso last Thursday!

Moving on! So on yesterday, i went to North Parramatta and i scored an interview with Triple A Marketing. And yes, i got the job! I wasn't planning on taking this job but since MEA has no shifts for me this year and also its casual i might as well try another Marketing agency and earn some extra cash while i wait for shifts to come up from them. So at the interview i obviously said the biggest bullshit and probably disguished it with my 'so called sophistication of speaking' i don't know how to explain it but the director said i was 'Fantastic' and that it's 'What they're looking for' which was surprising cause i literally thought i wasn't going to get the job. But meh!

After that i headed to Westfields and browsed around Myer for a good hour in the makeup section deciding what to get for Christmas.... for myself... LOL. After much debating on lusting over for a new mascara I came to conclusion that i really want Diors Iconic Mascara. I think i've been eyeing it for a whole year now and... i finally and got my hands on it ... ish. LOL. (Only because I told Lorenzo to get it for me for Christmas!) HEHEHEHE

This baby cost $52 by itself but at Myers & David Jones you can get both the Iconic and the Extase in a gift pack for the same price.

After discussing my cluelessness to what to get for Lorenzo for Christmas we decided to set a budget (which was $50) on what we should buy each other. I already bought him a pair of G Star Raw Slip On Shoes from ASOS and i'm pretty sure i ordered them a bit too small - so i think i have to return them in order for a refund. I also got him another present along with the shoes (but i will not say it because i know he might read my blog and then it will ruin the surprise - because i have the tendency to ruin surprises LOL)

Anywho! After spending so much time at the Lancome Counter trying on Hypnose Doll Eyes I was disappointed that Hypnose does not provide what it does for my short lashes and they tend to droop.

I was at the MAC Counter trying on their foundation for quite sometime cause i needed something light, not heavy and provide a natural look. The MAC lady recommended this!

MAC Studio Moisture Tint in Medium Dark - $48 AUD

It was perfect! It feels so light and like its soft and it doesn't feel icky like normal foundation. I managed to get a sample of it in a MAC Jar, it was soooo cute!

So after deciding on getting new foundation. I thought, maybe i'll contact my cousin from America to help me out! I didn't want to trouble her but she offered to help me out, so I managed to order some MAC from America!

Along with my order... i ordered MAC's famous Fluidline Gel Eyeliner and a Liquid Eyeliner Pen since i really hate my Maybelline one. I saved like heaps! And in return for helping me out with shipping i'm going to buy her something from Australia and after showing her my Australian branded make up that i own, she wanted me to get her Australis Colour Inject Lipstick in Mambo. Which is very similar to MAC's Blankety Lipstick. I know in America they have heaps of Lipsticks but i thought i'll get her something Aussie. Anything else you guys suggest i should buy as a souvenir?

Anywho, I've spent sooooo much lately with all the pay i got from work, there will be more pictures soon but i can't be bothered posting them all right now. I think this is enough for my blog for now. I got much more and i don't think i can cram anymore so... MORE COMING SOON!!!!!

Love, J.
