Face of Australia Sheer Gloss Lip Crayons

Hey there! I'm currently trying to post as much as I can too keep my followers entertained! I'm quickly approaching my Finals and I have my programming assignment to start and is due in 2 days. Talk about how fast time has gone by! I'm pretty excited and also my schedule has been hectic with my current promotion with Vodafone. I'm hoping I can score a part-time job with them because I really hate working in Marketing and Consumer Promotions... Also, crossing my fingers that I will pass my Finals in order to transfer Uni's to get my internship on my final year of my IT Degree! All is hectic and all... but onto the review!

So to kickstart my recent haul from Face of Australia. I will present to you the latest craze that has been all over the Aussie beauty bloggosphere, the Face of Australia's Sheer Gloss Lip Crayons.

So what I love about this is that it's a crayon! I don't think there would be much of a difference between a lipstick and a crayon. I think they marketed this pretty well with the cute packaging and also the idea that's it's a crayon (which is obviously a unique shape for a sheer lip gloss).

Despite confusing it as a giant lip pencil, you won't get a solid colour - obviously it's a gloss.
To me it seems like a tinted lip balm on a crayon. I would definitely prefer this over lip balm anyday. I'm not really a lip balm girl, the only lip balm I use and constantly used (in my life) is my recent purchase of the Boost Bloom Lip Balm in Mango Tango. (Other than that I have never really sticked to using lip balm)

The texture somewhat comparable to Revlon Lip Butters and last as long as any other lip balm or lipstick, it has the staying power of the whole 'once you eat or drink it's gone' so it's typical. I wish this was kinda like Revlon's Just Bitten Lip Stains. If this was a Lip Stain, this would've been DEFINITELY worth the hype. Lip Stains last much longer!

Overall for me it's just another 'Revlon Lip Butter Like Lip Crayon but by Face of Australia'. Don't get me wrong, I like this product! It's convenient and lovely for me because I just pop this into my make up bag and reapply it whenever.

I don't think they're really worth the hype as other Aussie bloggers were as excited. It is definitely a great present to give to someone. I would say they're great for those who don't want to go bold with lipstick but love some pop of colour on their lips with moisture.

Not to mention the lip crayon is pretty moisturising and it is not sticky at all! It is a light on application and can be slightly build-able.

These are limited edition so get in quick to snag yourself a bunch of cute crayons for your lips!

They can be found at stockists that sell Face of Australia. Mainly Priceline, Big W, Target and should be soon to be realised on Fashion Addict. They're $14.95AU for a trio, making them $5 each.

Macaron, Cupcake, Sundae

It is said that they are somewhat a dupe to Clinique's Chubby Stick Moisturising Crayon which features for $15US each (correct me if I'm wrong) but look at the colours! So similar!

More reviews coming up soon! Stay Tuned!

Love, J

  1. Ooh, definitely looking to pick these up :) I don't have any lip crayon products so I'm curious to try these, especially as they seem similar to the Clinique Chubby Sticks.

  5. Aw! Thanks for the review! I've been wondering about these! They have such cute names! Big W is having a 25% off sale, so I might just grab these and divide them for my three girlfriends! Talk about convenient! ^_^

They do look like the Clinique Chubby Sticks! I'm not surprised though :)!!!

As far as I can remember, FOA's brand manager loved the Clinique chubbysticks as she featured them on her blog a few times, I think! So these may be brought to the Aussie beauties with inspiration! ^_^

I'm looking forward to try these out! LOVE FOA! :)!!!!!
