What's currently on my nails!

Just a quick post! I'm just procrastinating... and I thought I'll share a 'What's on my nails' mani that I did!

I received this awesome Revlon Moon Candy Nail Polish in Galactic from Jill! (We did a swap! Which hopefully I can post up soon on my blog!) and I thought I'll try it out since my previous nail polish was chipping!

All I did was layer the black tinted blue polish and added a coat of the blue flecks from the Revlon Moon Candy Polish. Added a coat of China Glaze's Luxe & Lush and Nubar 2010 Flakies. Then sealed it off with some good ol' Seche Vite and Voila!

I'm always loving the flecks of specks on ma nails! Here's some instagram pics which I took!

You can see my lecture slides that I was suppose to be annotating but painting my nails is much more interesting that studying.

Anyways, hope I have some time later to blog some stufficles! Been missing this blog!

Toodles!

A Long Awaited Inglot Haul.

Hi all! It's been way too long since I last blogged! I've been procrastinating in posts and also as usual being a huge busy bee. I've finally finished my second year at University and I've finally got myself a new car! I've been dying to post something but was still articulating and editing my images as well as finding the right time to post since my schedule has been jam packed considering that I've been given more shifts at work leading up to the busy Christmas Season.

Anywho, to kick off my come back - I've been awaiting to post this Inglot haul which I kind of collected during August - Late September. Talk about a huge lag, I've finally compiled some things that I've bought and also being an Inglot virgin - no doubt I was highly impressed and I have to say that they're awesome.

Their quality is amazing and also their prices are not surprisingly expensive. Compared to MAC. I would definitely go for Inglot if you're looking for that high end quality but don't want that huge price tag MAC offers.

A few of the items were from IMATS earlier this year in August and the rest were pick ups whilst being near the Inglot stand at Bondi Junction. I'm not going to go into too much detail but just a little overview of the products.

I didn't take an individual shot of the Matte Top Coat but I can say that the Inglot Matte Top Coat is the bomb diggity. Best Matte Top Coat I've ever tried. It lasts pretty well on my nails, roughly a week without chipping.

I've been eyeing the Freedom System for a while (ever since my friend Lisa bought an 8 palette Freedom System at IMATS I was so tempted.) In late September, I finally got my hands on it and bought 2 eyeshadows just as a starter. I haven't decided on the other 2 colours to fill it with so it's blank for now, until I can find something unique. As you can see the chips and scratches on the eyeshadows I had a tough time trying to move them in and out of the palette. I'm a huge noob and knew that I can use the lid to shift them out. The brown eyeshadow is a bitch to move out of the palette so I literally need a bobby pin to crank that one out. The shimmery pearl shadow is a dream to take out of the palette only using the magnetic corner to gently shift the shadow out. Overall, this palette is great for travelling and I like the quad and the ability to switch shadows and stuffs.

Swatches of 402 (Shimmer), 30 (Pearl)

The Flakie Polish in 203 was an awesome addition to my obsession with flakie polishes. I also picked this one up at IMATS this year. Bought it for $11 at IMATS. Awesome quality polish I have to add!

The Inglot lip glosses are my favourite, considering being a person who isn't a huge fan of lip glosses. I discovered 100 at IMATS earlier this year when I was after a nice nudey pink gloss. I instantly fell in love with the colour considering it was something I was looking for - as well as the awesome formula and irresistible strawberry scent. It's the type of scent you want to open up the lip gloss and sniff all day. I do that.....

I have to say that the Sleek Creams are my favourite range out of their glosses. It glides on nicely and also has a pretty decent staying power. It's also moisturising so +1 for that too!

Their formula is way better than any other gloss I've tried to date they're decently priced coming at $22AUD. 100 is a shade which I picked up at IMATS for $15. Best lip gloss ever. As for the Sleeks and Sleeks VLC - they're similar but obviously a different range. I found that the VLC's are much more on the shimmery/pearly side and also the Sleeks are more shimmer/metallic (If that makes sense).  I've used up half the tube of the 100 already and that's a new record for me. I'm one of those people who never finish lip glosses because I'm always switching around and stuff. Oh, and add my YSL Glossy Stain to the 'most used lip glosses' these two are my all time favs!

The scents of these lip glosses are uniquely pleasant, as I mentioned.  I found that the Sleek Creams have this awesome strawberry scent which is irresistible compared to the Sleeks and Sleeks VLC which kind of have a plasticy scent - it's not a huge turn off but the Sleek Creams are much more desirable in scent.

Swatches of 76, 100, 45.

That concludes my Inglot haul! I'm just finishing up with some more posts that I need to put together. I'll be back real soon so keep an eye out! In the meantime, let me know if there's any other posts you would like to see!

Be back real soon!

A Fantasy Fire

So on Tuesday, popped to my local Big W and saw this gorgeous purple duo toned nail polish by Maxfactor in Fantasy Fire.

It's so pretty and unique and I love duo toned nail polishes. I picked this up for a dollar apparently. It scanned up as a dollar instead of the usual $5.95 which was a win! Anywho, been loving this colour so far and I currently have it on my nails.

This is the best image I could get of the nail polish looking true in real life. So perddddy. I'm loving it.

I decided to layer some colours as the nail polish is pretty opaque by itself.

I used a metallic blue base by Magnetix (has no name) and then layered around 2-3 coats of Fantasy Fire and topped it off with Nubar 2010 flakies.

Sealed it with a layer of topcoat and adding two layers of the gel-look top coat to really make it look shiny and glossy.

I previously own a few other colours from Maxfactor Max Effect Mini Nail Polishes and their staying power is pretty decent. Roughly 4-5 days until chipping or peeling.

I'll be back soon with a review on some mascaras!

Collective Hauls: Spa & Beauty Expo + Jewellery

So on Sunday I was invited by Katrina from Symbol PR to the Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo at the Sydney Convention Centre at Darling Harbour with my sister. Originally, my friend Shela was suppose to be there to accompany me but she couldn't make it.

We had some sister time (which we never really do) at the city. We had Pepper Lunch... for lunch! To those who don't know what Pepper Lunch is... it's freaking amazing (I'll explain briefly down below). I know they're only avaliable in Sydney so far but hopefully they will franchise out to the rest of Australia. It's my favourite spot to eat at the city.

We then headed towards Darling Harbour with the guidance of my stupid iPhone GPS leading us to a weird direction. Long story short, we had a wonderful time and also I snagged up some goodies (not only from the expo but also our trip to the city) to bring home only to hurt my poor credit card once again. Anywho here are some pictures to do most of the talking...

My Media Pass to the Spa & Beauty Expo!

My Salmon & Cut Steak at Pepper Lunch with my sister.

Basically, for those who don't know what Pepper Lunch is... it is japanese orientated 'fast food' that is 'healthy'. You get a dish (meat or fish) along with rice and vegetables (whatever, according to the menu) and basically they're placed on a hot plate and you cook it to the way you like it!

CitiSuper Macaroons for $1 - $10 for 10 + 2 free Macaroons.

Their range isn't that great with a few limited flavours but their macaroons are pretty mediocre. Obviously they're more homemade and petite and hence why they're so cheap.

Now...
Here are the goooooodies!

Domokun Slippers - $5 - My sister & I snagged at the Morning Glory Stand at Market City

Make Up Forever HD Foundation - $42 (Normally $58AU) at PM Studio (On the day of the Expo) - Unfortunately I have to exchange this shade as it's too dark on my NC25 skin (will do a review on it once I get my right shade)

OPI Nail Polish in The 'IT' Color - $10 (from the Expo), Normally $19.95 RRP in Aus.

Magnetix's Nail Polishes in Blue & Pink - $10 (from the Expo), Not 100% sure how much they would usually be here with AU RRP's.

Real Technique's Blush Brush - $13 (from the Expo), $22.99 AU RRP

Secret Star Girl False Lashes (Korean Branded) - $4  (from the Expo) - comes with two glue tubes and inexpensive for a pack of good quality natural looking lashes for going out.

Various Free Samples from Pelactiv from the Expo.

Overall I'll be doing reviews on the nail polishes, the RT brush & obviously the MUFE Foundation! Stay Tuned!

For some odd reason when I tried this shade at the expo it was alright. I went to a friends house who happened to have the same shade as well as other similar shades and found that N128 made me look like I had a really bad tan. I emailed PM Studio today and they said they will allow me to exchange it :)

This shade was in N128, I need to get something between 120-123 :( Since I haven't really opened the physical packaging I'm going to exchange it for another shade.

Daiso Clear Lash Glue & Bobbi Pins from CitiSuper

Also, these came in the mail today. Jewellery that I bought from eBay as well as (not pictured) my Ksubi Brenda Blue Jeans (here) which I've been lusting since my trip to Melbourne. Right now I'm loving my new pair of Ksubi's!!!

Here I bought a collar pin for my collared Mink Pink top. Can't wait to try it out! As well as a 4 Coloured Triangle Bracelet & braided pink bracelet to accessorise with my Michael Kors watch (sadly it looks weird as a combination so I might set it aside and wear it separately another day). Also a collared gold choker which I've been wanting for a while, so glad I got it for real cheap on eBay :)

Also, due to my busy schedule my posts will be a bit more scarce cause I'm still catching up with heaps of Uni work. You understand right? I miss my beloved blog and blogging occasionally. Please bare with me.

Have you got any good buys lately?

American Apparel Nail Lacquer in Office, Palm Springs & L'Esprit.

Apologies everyone! It's been heaps hectic this week especially with Uni just starting, my birthday and also work as well! I'm finally 20! Nothing too exciting to celebrate about, though I was spoilt by the boyfriend with dinner at Waterfront Grill, a lovely Pandora bracelet with a love heart charm and also a Guess Bag and Wallet from the friends. Not to mention my Beats Tours that I received from my lovely Aunty. (Pictures you may have seen if you follow me on Instagram!)

I will also do a separate birthday post real soon and also do an exciting review on this shampoo that I've been loving and probably my new holy grail shampoo & conditioner combo.  Anywho, down to this review which I'm excited to share with you today!

The other day, Shela & I had a lunch date at the city. I took Shela to eat Bibimbap because we were craving Korean Food... Okay more like I wanted to but she agreed to come eat with. After having an awesome Bibimbap lunch at Noodlemee (Located at Wynyard Station), our next destination was American Apparel.

Our initial plan was to go to American Apparel in the first place (since we have never really went to the actually physical store and also wanted to check out some clothes there that we eyed online) and it was also a day to find a present for my boyfriend's mum.

We tried on the infamous disco pants and found that they so didn't suit us. We also tried on the 'also infamous' Helvetica shirts (since I was considering buying one) but found that they weren't worth for the quality they are. Meh. Anyways, we left American Apparel with just 3 nail polishes each. Despite being a little disappointed with not coming home with any clothes from AA, all I can say now is that I love love love my nail polishes that I grabbed. I was so sad they didn't have the Manila colour that I originally wanted (which was a nice bright yellow) so I opted for Palm Springs.

The longevity of these nail polishes are pretty impressive. It took around 2 coats to be opaque to my liking. 3 to be 'perfect' and look way more polished... if that made sense.

They lasted around a week before starting to grow out of my nails. I can't think of any cons for these besides probably it being a little pricey, but definitely worth it.

Office, Palm Springs, L'Esprit

Swatches: Palm Springs, L'Esprit & Office

Overall, like I said they are a little pricey but what it's a good quality nail polish considering they're $12 a pop or 3 for $28. Shela and I got 3 each. I wanted some pastel nail polishes too add to my collection and also I'm a huge sucker for sleek packaging. These will forever be my favourites.

Will be back after soon with more reviews and a haul coming up soon!

Another Nail Fixation with an Essence Nail Polish Haul!

The other day I was at my local Priceline and they finally installed a full shelf of Essence products! Essence in Australia has only been avaliable at Target and usually most of the items there are no where to be found (since they're always out of stock). Priceline now has full shelves of all the Essence products! I grabbed a few things (mainly Essence) and here are the nail polishes which I snagged for $2.55 each! The top coats were $3.45 each.

Overall, Essence Nail Polishes are pretty good quality. The nail polishes aren't streaky and most of them become opaque after 2-3 coats (which is typical)

They last a good week the nails (with top coat) and a 3-4 days without. The 'gel look' top coat from Essence actually made my nails somewhat gellish! But it was more of a high gloss top coat as it is depicted on the packaging.

I am definitely not disappointed at Essence Nail Polishes and especially the brand. It's heaps affordable and cheap as well.

You can find Essence products at either Target or Priceline in Australia and also at Ulta in the US.

Have you tried any Essence products? If so, what are your favourites?

Nail Fixation with The Face Shop & Essence

It's another Nail Fixation which I do regularly when my nails start to get all tacky and the polish is blouchy. I thought I'll share my nails that I deeply admire and also which I have on this week.

This week I made the change from bright coral orange (Essence C'est La Vie - not pictured) which I had on spontaneously because my nails looked atrocious and I quickly painted my nail before clubbing with friends.

After that I got bored of a plain coat of coral-orange polish, I opted for dark blue nails courtesy of The Face Shop's BL602 which I adore so so much and also putting to use the Essence Nail Polish in Blue Addicted which I bought recently for my Essence Haul (in which I will blog about real soon).

I saw this polish first debut on Sleep & Water, after seeing her (Sorry I don't know your name!) swatch the beautiful blue (here), as well as seeing how I was eyeing Deborah Lippman's polishes, her post was at the right timing for me!

This was 1/10 of what Deborah Lippman was sold for considering they're $26 online. Coming down to just $2.55 for the little bottle of Essence Nail Polish and accompanying it is the $4 for The Face Shop Nail Polish in BL602. This whole set including the top coat from Essence at ($3.45) is rounded up to perfect nail fixation for $10.

I've been searching everywhere for Blue Addicted and I cannot find it anywhere! Until my local Priceline recently stocked and installed a full shelf of Essence products and I was quick to grab this along with other things I wanted to try and haul. I also saw Tram that day at the shopping centre too! Haha!

The Face Shop Nail Polish was purchased by my cousin at Melbourne (when I was there) It was $4 at some Korean store which stocks all Korean Cosmetics (which I cannot remember the name of it - I think it was called Ecoshop or Eco something!) but it was at Glen Waveley near Coles (which is all I can remember)

2-3 layers of BL602 from The Face Shop.
Love the reflects of glitter in this polish and the colour is beyond beautiful.

Then a generous layer of Essence's Blue Addicted, probably around 2 coats is enough and seal it with a top coat after applying and allowing that coat to settle in.

Hope you like this nail fixation which I currently have on my nails. I admire it so so much! I'm also keen on trying the magnetic nail polishes but... we'll see about that.

Fing'rs Nail Bling - Tiger Striped Nails

I'm not a huge fan of animal print, i'd be the last person on earth to ever really like them. Sorry! But anywho, I got sent this Fing'rs Flirt Nail Bling in this Tiger Striped Design? I don't know... Tigers? LOL. Anywho, I thought I'll give them ago and try them on despite how I loathe the print.

I previously hate orange nail polish on and I'm in need of taking that polish off asap!

I had to trip some of the edges of the stickers in order to let it fit onto my nail then I applied it with a matte top coat cause I couldn't find my normal top coat....

Overall, I liked it at first then after 10-15 minutes it got in the way, started peeling off and also the top coat did nothing! I don't know if I sealed it properly or not but I'm pretty sure if I trimmed the stickers a little bit more and allowed it to seal properly on my nails it would end up looking patchy (if you know what I mean?) in order to seal them properly. I don't know... I woke up the next day and it peeled off during my sleep, peeled off during the day and overall I just disliked it! But if you had any luck with them please let me know! The Fing'rs come in many designs and are avaliable at Priceline. Normally $7.99 but are on sale at Priceline for $6.49 at the moment.

Have any of you tried these stickers? I'm gonna say I'll pass for now. Hope the next time I try them they will be heaps better.

Love, J

OPI Just Spotted The Lizard

So I bought this nail polish on eBay for $12AU the free postage - it was incredibly fast considering it was in Sydney (and yeah, I live in Sydney). So it only took 2 business days.

Pictured here is Just Spotted The Lizard and I layered it ontop of my China Glaze For Audrey which I previously had on. I was at Uni studying with my boyfriend and my friend and I had my opened package with this nail polish and decided to paint my nails on my study break. Hehehe!

It may look a tad deceiving but I promise you without For Audrey on my nails it would look merely the same! You can snag some really cheap OPI's on ebay and I always get skeptical incase they're fake. I checked all the OPI's I've bought from ebay (3 to be exact) and they're all real.

To See If You Have A Fake OPI:
You can tell if they're real by the plastic brush handle inside is embossed with OPI and also the pro wide brush (meaning you can easily paint your nails in one go) - other than that another giveaway is also the code printed on the bottom of the bottle (you can merely see it in the image above) as well as the code matching the code on the bottom (where the nail of the nail polish is displayed). There are heaps of internet resources on how to determine if it's fake or not but this is my quick recap of it!

Also another reason why I got this nail polish is because it is a 99.9% Dupe for Chanel's Peridot. Many blogs online that I read say Chanel's Peridot is not worth it's price tag. Despite Chanel's Nail Polishes have an anti-stop thingo... You know, if you tip your nail polish it won't spill. (Apparently from what my Uni friend told me - cause she owns Chanel Nail Polishes)

When I first saw Peridot I wasn't so amazed because the colour combination wasn't so appealing to me at first but after seeing so many people owning Peridot and also I love to collect unique nail polishes, I was like... I'll just get OPI's one. It's nearly half the price considering OPI RRP for $19.95AU and Chanel is $40AU here. I couldn't go wrong with a 99.9% Dupe.

Here's some images I grabbed from Google and comparison to Chanel's Peridot.

(Image from Temptalia)

(Image from Vampy Varnish)

I'm really loving this colour, it's a unique duo toned colour with hints of gold and green. It's part of OPI's Spiderman collection and usually retails for $19.95AU a bottle here at David Jones/Myer Stores.

Uni Life, Anniversary, Mail & Nail Therapy.

So I have my Stats Exam on this week and thank heavens it is an open book exam. I haven't been going to my past 5 lectures and tutorials and it's because I'm utterly lazy due to the fact that it's not complusory, most of my friends don't go and most of the time I am napping. So I'm sort of doomed...ish.

Also, after my mid-semester break from Uni I've been spending a lot. I've recently purchased my first Sigma Brush Kits along with a pair of Sigmax HD Brushes, so I can't wait for those to arrive and all. As well as the occasional outings I've been having with the close friends and as well, today - celebrating my eight month anniversary with my boyfriend! I don't know why out of all the other anniversaries but today was probably so exciting - maybe it's the fact that 'eight' is my favourite number or alternatively when flipped sideways it signifies an infinite sign...... What the hell did I just say (that was utterly corny and shiz - I will hold my peace now).

This morning before leaving the house to Cabramatta with the boyfriend and friends to have brunch and prepare of Phong's Getty/BBQ for ANZAC Day - I got mail! Just 3 things from eBay!

So I'm going to cut to the chase and get onto some needed (unnecessary) retail therapy 'session' I had today.

I headed to my local Big W to grab these polishes knowingly that they are on special. Maxfactor ($5 off) Napoleon (3 for 2), Face of Australia ($3 off) & of course Australis ($3 off?) was on sale. The sale is til 2 May as I asked the shop assistant there - so you got a week or so left! Cosmetics are running out quick because nearly every Big W I went to, it was sort of demolished... Anywho, these are the things I got!

Presents from the boyfriend.

My Long awaited Dusk Candle in Lychee & Black Tea. SMELLS AMAZING.
Story behind this is that, when we went to Dusk I was madly in love with this scent. I was broke since it cost $27 for that candle so I was like... I'll wait when I have more money and get it.
Yesterday the boyfriend went out and got it for me! As well as a cute card (in which I'm not going to show because it's image is super corny and embarrassing LOL) but the card is super adorable!
As well as the lip butters he got me before but today I managed to swap my Cotton Candy Lip Butter for Tutti Frutti! (Will do a post one that soon!)

In the mail today I finally got my Shu Uemura Mini Eyelash Curler and also my supposedly 'Shiseido' Eyebrow Razors LOL.

I'm still adjusting on how to use it without pulling out my little lashes, but basically the mini eyelash curler works better than a normal eyelash curler (supposingly) as it grabs each lash for a better curl?!

My Mini & Original Size Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers

So what's the hype behind these lash curlers?! I shall do a blog post about these lash curlers soon! They're not just ordinary lash curlers, they cater... (that's shall be all I will say!) I want to make a separate post for these.

So...
The things I actually bought! 3 of the nail polishes I bought a few days ago but I thought I'll add them in!

These retail for $4.95 each
and ended up $1.95 each after the ($3 off)

I shall be giving this one away...

and going to give these babies away!
And perhaps this whole set below, there's 2 Ivory, 2 Sunny Pink's

These were $5 off and usually they're $5.48 so... I got them for 48 cents each! But they have limited colours and by the time I got there, they were ALL gone. So I got the last ones.

If you can see, I kinda got lazy and didn't put my watermark on these images. It's time consuming but I'm just going to rush through and get my study on asap.

My giveaway will be in 2 days! So if you're eager to score yourself some nail polishes, ENTER!

Love, J.
