So I’ve been MIA, once again. But I'm back! Over the summer I did buy some make up but not as much as I normally would. I think over the past year I saved a lot of money compared to the previous year as I would just splurge all the time with make up, so now I’ve behaved with that and this collective haul I’ve gathered up over summer will depict the damage I made over the span of 3 months or so?
But today, I'll start off with a Benefit primer I purchased during my trip to Melbourne.
So I got from Benefit is a primer and I’ve been on the hunt for a new primer since I’ve ran out of my previous primer. I got the Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer and I did love it at first but after a while I found it made my foundation really patchy and it was horrible.
It's the first long lasting primer from Benefit and I was excited to try it out. It says that 'Flawless works overtime! Our instant PRO-long primer acts like a magnet to lock on your foundation for 15 fresh & flawless hours. This invisible stick primer glides directly onto skin for optimal wear and a natural-looking finish.' Magnet part, yes but in terms of the way it settles.... No.

My foundation just didn't sit well and my face just looked really dirty? It was so texturised by the primer that it didn't look smooth. Compared to liquid / cream primers this sucks... I'm so disappointed that a high end product like this failed on me. There was many times I had to wash off my foundation cause it looked so bad. The product sets really quickly because it’s like a glue stick – but for your face.
Don’t get me wrong, the product itself doesn't budge but - I hate the fact that it sets way too quickly on my face. I've tried applying the primer on one area then applying foundation right after and all but it’s a bit challenging to make it all work seamlessly.
I’m gonna try and work with it cause I did spend $27 (Originally is $47 -I had a voucher for Myer so I got it for cheaper) and considering the fact that many people adore the primer, I don’t want it to go to waste. For $47, you're better off getting a different primer - I would not recommend this after my horrible experience.
Love, J
That doesn't sound like it's worth the price :/ Thanks for the review!

Oh noooo, too bad! So I won't try this out! Thanks for the review (:
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame that this primer didn't work for you! I've never bought any of Benefit's primers before, just because of their absurd prices! It does look very strange and very similar to a glue stick :P It's disappointing that this primer was a let down!
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to your posts because you have a cute but comfortable style! Keep writing.
